As well as international volunteer efforts, including 3 weeks in Nepal, Dr. Cumberford is a regular volunteer since 2014 on The Alex Dental Health Bus. The Dental Health Bus provides mobile dental care for children in need, ultimately improving the quality of life for Calgary’s most vulnerable youth. The Dental Health Bus brings essential preventative oral health services and support to children in identified high needs elementary schools.
In 2014 Dr. Cumberford approached The Alex and helped set up the evening bus clinic by personally selecting all the dental tools, materials, and instruments. He volunteers two evenings a month, from 5:30 – 8:30pm.
